Review on Patriot Memory VIPER 3 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR3 1600MHz DIMM CL9 PV316G160C9K by Chong Eun Moon ᠌

A high-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

This is my second set (the first one I bought in another store about a year ago). Just like the first one, it fired up with no problems. There were no conflicts with the first one. In total, I now have 32 GB of RAM. My computer almost does not turn off, everything is stable. The only thing (this does not apply to the product, but it may be useful to someone) is that on Win 10 64-bit with a Xeon processor on a 1156 socket, I had to perform small dances with a tambourine. The OS refused to boot normally with 32 GB (hanging for 20+ minutes on boot, and then running slowly and showing 100% CPU usage). It is treated through msconfig (boot on 16 or 24 Gig, put a daw in msconfig at maximum memory, then turn off the computer, insert all 32 Giga and boot, then set 32768 in msconfig, reboot and voila - everything works and flies). However, this seems to be a feature of Win10 with old processors and platforms, like mine (socket 1156), because. on Win7, they write, there are no problems (but I haven’t tried it myself). I repeat - this does not apply to the product, it just might save someone a little nerves, because. Personally, at first I sinned by memory)))

Pros
  • Works great at the stated timings and frequencies.
Cons
  • The heatsinks are a bit high, not suitable for everyone (they can hit the cooler if the location of the memory slots is bad).
