I have had similar 8000L lumen flashlights that were brighter than this one. They are bright and do what I wanted them to do. Side throw feature because I live in a country where there are no street lights for over 20 miles and I need to check the roadsides for critters. They are aimed low so as not to illuminate oncoming traffic or people in front of me. I haven't "flashed" any other drivers yet. People who drive with care usually shift to the right when I'm approaching from behind. Overall I like them and work for what I wanted them for.
