I bought it to make YouTube videos. I'm getting ready to make home automation videos and I needed something that is a little further from the camera and can hide more of the noise around me. In any case, it's very important to me that I don't have to shout into the microphone on top of the camera and she can't hear anything around me. Those were my motivations. So far it has held up well. I made some test videos to see what to expect when shooting. It's pretty delicate. It blocks out most of the noise around me and to be honest I could whisper and this thing could hear me. The wireless part of the camera is a little strange. It is battery operated and very large. A bit more than I expected, but it should work for my purposes. It comes with two microphones. One is a lapel mic that I will be using and the other is a headset mic which just reminds me of Thanksgiving when I saw them at the parade except they have a giant red ball on the end. It's a lot thinner. Anyway, great for my purposes. I've never used it, it's just what a friend suggested to me, so I bought it. Although it looks pretty cool and I would recommend it.
