This is a decent USB 3.0 hub with decent performance. One important thing to note, however, is that without getting too technical, it limits the number of "endpoints" that can reside on a single USB port at one time. Each device you connect offers one or more of these endpoints (e.g. my wireless headset offers 6). The internal structure of this hub is such that the first two ports (top, closest to the USB host and power connectors) are on dedicated ports on the root hub. The other two ports on the root hub are shared among the remaining 8 slots (4+4). When you plug in a device and Windows complains that it is exceeding the USB controller's resources, you are exceeding the number of endpoints. Try moving the newly connected device to one of the first two ports.
