To carry out certain chores away from home, I opted for a 13-14 inch laptop on which I could install Linux. Lenovo was my pick since it has a dual-core Intel Core i3, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB solid-state drive. Overall, I was impressed with the product's construction, display, mouse/trackpad, and keyboard. There is more than enough light for the task at hand (not that I plan on sitting on the beach any time soon). It does not become hot and is very quiet when performing typical duties like browsing the web or using a few select programs. Without breaks for entertainment, an 8- to 10-hour workday is possible. I believe battery life can be considerably improved through system and BIOS tuning. I was unable to get the touchpad to function with Linux Xubuntu 20.04.2. We tried several versions and distributors, but none of them worked properly out of the box. Then, after a great deal of digging, the touchpad finally paid off. One line of the GRUB bootloader has to be registered. Here's a guide for installing Xubuntu 20.04 (should work with any Ubuntu release CD/DVD) that someone might find useful. Press the Alt> + Ctrl> + T> combination to call up Two, we use the command sudo nano /etc/default/grub 3. Type in the secret code. Then, in quotes, type "i8042. Nopnp=1 pci=nocrs" at the end of the line you see that begins with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" to make the line read GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042. Nopnp=1 pci=nocrs." After making edits, hit ctrl+o to save them. Ctrl+x to quit the editor ate the GRUB bootloader, which is done by entering sudo ate-grub in the terminal. 8. Type reboot into the terminal to restart your device. Just reboot and use the touchpad as usual. A month of use is required before I can write a review. Using Linux, I was able to fix the problem where the laptop would not wake up from hibernation or sleep. Particularly irritated when trying to put the lid down. All laptops should be able to use it. The problem was easily fixed. A swap partition is required during the Linux installation process. Swap is a system file that is normally found in the root directory. There will no longer be a problem with the standby mode. In a moment, you will awake. There will be less concerns about stability if the disk is partitioned into swap, root, and home during installation.
