I gradually became interested in mechanical watches. I used to have a $24 skeleton pocket watch that I liked but broke pretty easily with a light knock. I bought this as an upgrade because I saw it had positive mentions on some review sites. This watch feels more durable and looks better in some ways. But it's better not to keep track of time - while he's gaining almost a minute a day. The ticking is louder than my cheap one (which you may or may not like) and while it may be my imagination, the ticking sounds a bit more "tinny". The mainspring is also a bit off, not the perfect coil on other watches (including mine at $24). Overall, my (non-professional) impression was that they weren't much, if anything, better than my cheap watches, with the exception of the case. ?) it was sold for $300 but I ended up buying it for about $160. That tells me they hope only the high price will pass it off as a more fashionable watch. Not sure if the best case is $160 let alone $300.
