Before buying this unit I bought a two kettle system to be used on the stove top and makes great tea until one day I left the house and forgot the stove was on (very weak ), but when I returned home, the pot was dry, red hot, and almost burned my house down. Bought this device, makes fantastic tea (remember 2g of tea per 6oz of water), of course I left the house and forgot to turn the device off. When I came back a few hours later it was still excellent tea and no danger. If you love tea and drink it daily, do yourself a favor and buy this samovar, but don't leave it unattended.
