After reading what others are saying about the sticker on the mirrors coming off in the car wash decided I choose a different placement. In the picture here I used double sided tape on the door jamb, then on the swivel base and mirror. This works well for a good side view. The coverage is actually great and I can see the blind spot completely on the left 180 degrees on the left. However, our image is VERY small. This can serve as a warning that something is approaching, but depth perception is virtually ZERO and it is very difficult to determine distance. The image is scaled down about -6x, so something at 10 feet looks like it's about 60 feet. So this is not a replacement for the side mirror, just an extra precaution. This would be helpful for children or small pets approaching your car from behind, out of view of the rear camera. What NOT to do: DO NOT apply any glue to the visor. First, it's completely useless if you don't want to see your face. Second, if you have a fabric cover on your visor, you cannot remove it without cutting a hole in the fabric. It's REALLY sticky. Aside from that, the feng shui mirror creates a vaguely benevolent aura. Not what I had planned. What you can do with it is look at your car seat when you place it on the rearview mirror, where your passenger's headrest will cover the window anyway. But since I don't have a child or child seat, I don't really need it.
