As mentioned in previous reviews they need some cleaning to get the best out of them. After you take the trouble to clean them they work pretty well and I placed them on the surface of the record to find them to be within 5 tenths (0.0005) of their length, what a home repair job is close enough. Remember you get what you pay for. Their quality is pretty much what you would reasonably expect when buying the cheapest universal set of adjustable parallels you can find at Revain. If you want REAL accuracy you should save up and buy something from Starrett or better, bearing in mind that it will cost you 3 or 4 times what they sell.
