I use this pan for solar cooking. Solar works best with dark, light-colored pots and pans. Granite cookware does just that. Because it has no handles, this particular pot fits perfectly in a large pyrex bowl, and with a second large pyrex bowl flipped over at the top and secured with brackets, it makes a solar oven. I place an oven thermometer on the granite cookware lid to monitor the temperature. The lid is self-closing to keep moisture out. Ideal for casseroles, chili, roasts, bread. This Pyrex and Graniteware configuration fits into a Copenhagen style panel for reflection, but many people make reflectors out of silver car windshield reflectors. Amazing free energy for cooking on a sunny day. Install it and forget about it for a few hours.
