I attached the lamps to the wall just below the bottom of the closet. Big mistake. Whenever I would walk and sit at my desk across the room, the lights would suddenly be right at my eye level, shining right in my eyes. So I learned my lesson too late - I should have put them in the bottom of the wall unit so they shine on the countertop. After trying not to look like this for about a week, I decided at the table that I had enough and went to rearrange them. But by then it was already too late. The sticky foam stuck to the wall, not the fixtures, and I had to peel it off the wall in small pieces. It definitely wasn't reusable. So now I have a string of lights and no way to hang them. I think I can use another double sided tape but that would be a lot of work cutting all the tape and peeling the backing off of it. The adhesive backing on these lights was easy to remove, but I'm not aware of any double-sided tape with an easy-to-remove backing, so I'm dreading this project. In terms of brightness, every single small segment of the lamp is very bright, but there's a large gap between the bright areas where the cable connects them, and so light-dark-light-dark-light-dark all the way bright areas are about 2.5 inches long and the dark areas are about 3.5 inches long. This means that less than 50% of the entire route is actually illuminated. This could be improved by placing the lights closer together. When placing lights on the wall, I accidentally stuck one in a place I didn't like and moved it. So the tape could be moved within a few seconds, but stopped moving after a few days.
