I was initially skeptical about the purchase as there were 13 reviews given when ordering and only 3 of those reviews were linked to actual written reviews. Only one of these written reviews was detailed and contained more than three or four words. Another thing that made me hesitant was that the other items sold in the store were totally unrelated to mesh sponge (like party supplies and juggling balls). But given the amount you get for an affordable price (typically $11-$13 for just one of those clean sponges at Revain) and the fact that a written review was really positive and very detailed, I decided to give it a go to attempt. I am very happy with my purchase. Before use, I disinfected both mesh sponges by placing them in boiling water for about 20-30 minutes. Halfway through cooking (about 10 minutes), I stirred them in the pot for about 5 minutes so the water reached every part of the sponges. After sanitizing this way, I let the sponges cool before placing them in a bucket and hand washing them with water and Dawn dish soap. Just to be safe and make sure they are clean before use. My family and I used this type of mesh shower sponge a lot when we were kids, so I know the benefits and I'm glad it's still relevant. The sponges exfoliate very well without being harsh. I think cooking went a long way in curbing any harshness that might irritate the skin. These sponges are great for a deep thorough cleansing and exfoliation. My skin is visibly smoother and softer after just a few uses. I also love that these mesh sponges don't contain many of the bacteria commonly associated with bath sponges, especially shaggy bath sponges. I've had these mesh sponges for two months now and they're great. I highly recommend them. An amazing purchase for quantity, quality, affordability and durability.
