I bought two of these units, both for Hunter ceiling fans in bedrooms. And they work wonderfully! Installation isn't difficult, but working with an installed ceiling fan that weighs a lot overhead isn't easy. The second installation was easier and quicker (1.5 hours) because I knew what I was doing. The only change I made was for the light. I still wanted to turn it on via the wall switch on the bedroom door. (Both bedrooms have separate switches for the fan and light, which is a big plus.) So I left the wires for the lights connected in the wiring. I just installed the controller on the fan. (2 white and black wires on one side of the controller, 2 white and black wires on the other side.) Blocking the controller and all the wires back wasn't too bad. One thing I did to make installation easier was remove one of the blades. So when everything was open and on hinges, the unbalanced weight tilted the fan slightly to one side. A missing fan blade also made the reinstallation easier as there is more clearance from the ceiling to lift the unit back to the junction box and reinstall the 3 mounting screws. I am very satisfied with this product!
