We needed to extend the wifi from our cabin to another building on our property so my husband could connect to the internet in his office in another building. We set up these blocks and they work great! You don't have to be an IT professional to do this. Here's what we did: We started in a building that already had WiFi. When unpacking the modules, make sure that one is switched to H and the other to C. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN side of each module and the other end to the POE side of the black POE. Adapter. Then connect the POE adapters to the power strip to allow the modules to power up and communicate with each other. The lights will come on and in about 5 minutes or less each module should display a number. Both must have the same number, but one must have an H before the number and the other must have a C before the number. Then leave module H in the house that already has internet and bring module C into the building where you need internet. Set them up facing each other, then connect an ethernet cable from the router to the LAN side of the black POE adapter in each building, and at that point you should have internet! Here's what you may need for this: 1. The ethernet cables that come with the modules are short, so you may need to purchase two longer ethernet cables (we have a 50ft CAT 6 cable for outside cabins and a 5ft Bought Ethernet cable for another building). .2 . You need a router for the building you want to extend the internet to.3. Make sure you have an Ethernet cable to connect both routers to the black POE adapter. You may want to test the modules off-site before installing them permanently. Hope that helps!
