I had never gone the magnetic way and wasn't sure about this approach. I have a great case that I used with my 12 Max Pro, but it didn't have a MagSafe ring and the case held the phone too far from this mount for a good connection. I bought a Magsafe case (Linklike [Military Anti-Drop] iPhone 12 PRO MAX Clear Case Compatible [Magsafe Charger Compatible]) and was concerned it would interfere with inductive charging on my Anker phone stand. It all turns out to work fantastic - the Magsafe case and this mount hold it like it's glued on, and it still charges great on the Anker mount. I AM HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. Surface temperature It is important to ensure that the surface is clean. - I have a car with metal on the dash so that was an obvious spot to hook up, but heavily textured plastic can cause some issues.
