As a DIYer installing my first Mini Split, I have found this tool very useful. First, it comes with the required 5/16" fitting to mount to the R410a system. It also comes with a built in schrader valve removal tool. Connect a pump, meter, etc. I also have a 1/4" side fitting for use with a vacuum gauge. This makes the whole vacuum process so quick and easy. The price might be a bit off for a one-time fitment, but it can be resold as used. Personally, I'm very happy that I have it. By the way, this device comes in two sizes, 5/16" for R410a.
