Doesn't quite fit

I have a white New 3DS that I bought used and it was missing a pin. Not sure why most reviews say otherwise, but these don't fit very well. I have the XL model with the official pen and it is very narrow in comparison and there is a visible gap between the lip on the end of the pen where it should sit right up against the slot so it doesn't fit. Totally right.
