This household water filter jug is more expensive than most, but cheaper and easier to use. Tired of the filtration issues we face with the cheaper but expensive Zero Water system, we decided to try the much newer Lifestraw jug. We were impressed with the much lower cost and much higher value of the filter! Skeptical, I decided to try the 10 cup jug that Revain was selling at a reduced price. We have been using it for almost 2 months now and are very satisfied! The main filter (big, long) filters as fast as (inadequate, but fast) a 10 cup Brita jug and much faster than Zero water filters (if you have a working one). Also, Lifestraw has a second filter that mimics a hockey puck that removes 99% of germs! I bought a set of OEM lifestraw filters, yearly, 3 months less Zero Water Filter. We were pleasantly surprised when we measured Lifestraw filtered water zero zero like the new Zero Water Filter! About 1/4 of the Zero Water Filters are not working properly. Those who work 3 to 3/2 weeks. Even the ones that work cause problems! Blockage from air bubbles causing filtration to become very slow or stop altogether. Some branded filters like Brita reduce the odor and taste of chlorine, but no more. Our tap water meters range from 125 to 134. Zero Water & Lifestraw reduces this to zero.
