This cutting mat/ironing pad is a real lifesaver in my small workspace. A cutting board is great because it lets my circular knife cut in one go and doesn't leave cut or scratch marks. The ironing side is covered with a silver fabric cover that appears to double the performance of your iron; I lower the temperature setting on my iron (e.g. from cotton to the next lower setting). I expect this item to last a very long time because it is so well made, but if I ever need to replace it I will purchase the exact same model. Note. As you move from the ironing side to the cutting side, keep in mind what's on your desk or surface. My desk was a bit dusty and when I turned it over, the iron mat looked dirty. So now I put a blank sheet of paper on my desktop when I'm going to use the whiteboard.
