The tool itself is well made, strong and well made. The problem lies in the design. I use this a lot when slicing ground beef or minced sausage and whatever I'm slicing tends to get stuck in the "blades" requiring another tool to remove. The "blades" are too narrow to fit a regular sponge and too wide for most drain cleaning brushes. I suppose if you throw everything in the dishwasher the last issue is NOT an issue, but having a second tool to get food stuck in the blades is reason enough to regret your purchase.
