After reading reviews and specs of over a dozen different tripods I settled on this one for my upcoming vacation. First, realize that the purpose of this model is to TRAVEL. It is lightweight and very compact when folded. It fits in the side water bottle pocket on my backpack (but I usually let one leg hang out so it's not too tight). It weighs just over 2 pounds, so you'll hardly notice it in or on your bag. The downside is it won't be as stable as my 5lb Manfrotto. It also takes some time to install, even with the twistlock legs, which work great. For faster installation, carry it with the B-pillar down and without rotating the legs. Yes, it's about 4 inches longer this way, but it still fits nicely on the outside of your bag. Finally, give it a few seconds to calm down before taking the picture, as there will be a slight vibration for a moment after the capture. Stay away from the camera. Use a remote shutter release or set a short timer to avoid camera shake and shake. Overall it serves its purpose of being a lightweight, very portable tripod with decent stability if you have a little patience.
