Maybe it was because I read all the reviews but overall I was more careful with this ring than the thicker one I bought at the same time. So far it has served me for over 5 months with no problems. While I don't expect my experience to be identical to others, I actually transferred it to three different devices without changing the adhesive. And it's still holding up well. I'm also not so gentle with it that it's annoying or impractical. I don't swing my phone next to the ring like I'm a teenager. But I kept it strictly ringside from time to time. It's just not my style to keep it as the default. That's just trouble, IMO. Especially since I didn't reapply the new glue. If I did I might consider being a little more casual with him. Previously it was attached directly to my Sony phone (flat aluminum surface). I gently tore it off, just pressing it firmly against the new surface. I expected to use the included glue circles (or came up with another one, not sure which one). But I still have to do it. To be honest I almost had no intention of using this ring at all. I bought it at the same time as one of the thicker rings. And after reading so many negative reviews I used a thicker ring. And this sticker ring worked great. I may have already written a review about it. But then I decided to put this flat ring directly on the phone when I took it out of the case. And since the case was flexible and the ring was thin enough, I could put a case on it if needed (because the back of the case I used was a bit flexible). In one case he even had his own ring. I placed this ring just below where the ring should be on the case. And when I had to put it in the phone holder in the car I had to remove the case but that ring didn't bother because it was so thin. If you NEED a very thin ring this might work for you if you are careful. Some people can afford new phones without batting an eyelid. I'm not one of those people. That's why I'm generally very careful with my devices. I placed this ring just below where the ring should be on the case.
