I have subjected this product to a strenuous test. Uses the standard 14.1 volt car charger port on the horsepower stand. Plugged both terminals of the charger into my chargers, started at 0.5 amps and held it for a minute, increasing in 0.5 amp increments at 1 minute intervals until I got to 3 amps for a total of 6. I kept it there for 10 minutes at full power. The charger passed the test without overloading or overheating. The outer case was warm, my infrared gun read 105 F / 40.5 C. I unplugged and touched the contacts, it was about the same temperature. Volport is an excellent car charger! I also have the ability to trigger the QC algorithm, QC 2 and 3 work well, it's also nice that the charger has circuitry for Apple charging cables to allow them to charge at the maximum current allowed for devices.
