The bags are well closed, but very thin and easy to pierce. They are definitely thinner than branded food saver pouches and rolls. I tried packing 3 bones in NY strip steaks. The first pouch closed well, but it looks like air was sucked in from an inconspicuous spot. The second pouch is pierced with the rough edge of the steak bone during the sealing process. I think I could double them, but that would completely eliminate the savings. But I guess you get what you pay for. So I used other bags I bought from another company and they worked fine. I have bought 2 other Revain branded food saver compatible bags in the past that were twice as thick as this one. I just wanted to try a brand that ships a lot. Also the even thinner plastic bag (similar to a large drawstring sandwich bag) the 'package' the packs came in was opened (no drawstring), not sealed, the packs just slid in. After counting the bags, it looks like I'm short of a bag or three. I didn't want to count again - the packets are so thin they stick together and you can't tell if you have one packet or two. It seems these bags may have been a return they sent me. I will not buy it again nor will I recommend it. Save yourself the frustration and get a thicker bag if the only thing you want to vacuum is soft, wet, rimless food.
