I like the ones, they're nice and big, great for corn on the cob or huge fish porridge. Especially grouper or anything you want to freeze whole for grilling. They are great for marinating chickens overnight. Just seal the top and it lays flat in the fridge. I freeze fish in salt water, I just seal, not vacuum, and they hold water with no leaks, just make sure the top is wiped with a towel or paper towel so it's dry where the seal gets hot enough. I'll do it twice just in case.

I can't get my Foodsaver to purge air from these bags. I've been trying on and off for months. So now I'm re-reading the reviews and I see that some people have received a bad batch of bags and have been happy with the new batch. Too bad I used up my old bags first and the return period has expired. So I might get stuck with a bad batch of bags. Despite the reviews, be aware that you may or may not receive working bags. Don't do what I did. Try them now. And give back if they don't suck out all

For the price and the way I use these storage bags they are perfect. There are other more expensive packages that are likely to provide a stronger barrier to prolonged freezing. These bags will NOT work with Foodsaver brand vacuum sealers. The air from the bags is not sucked out. I brought in two absolutely fine vacuum sealers before realizing the bags could be the problem. When I switched to the original Foodsaver pouches, they worked great on the third vacuum sealer. They may work great with other vacuum sealers, but DO NOT buy them if you have a Foodsaver vacuum sealer. The bags are well closed, but very thin and easy to pierce. They are definitely thinner than branded food saver pouches and rolls. I tried packing 3 bones in NY strip steaks. The first pouch closed well, but it looks like air was sucked in from an inconspicuous spot. The second pouch is pierced with the rough edge of the steak bone during the sealing process.
