Ok, I will first say that when I got my pair, I was disappointed that the material is awfully thin, especially for the price. Obviously it's meant to be worn around the house but I still would have preferred a bit more . . .coverage? thickness? Anyways, I also decided to size up because I am into baggy clothing that won't dig into my tummy. Instead of my usual Medium, I got a Large and am very happy I did. I don't need to tie the strings. It sits comfortably around my waist/tummy without digging in whatsoever--or I can pull it up and wear it like a high-waist. It's airy and flowy. Perfect for lounging or using as pajamas especially in the summer. I wouldn't wear these outside though unless it was to go over a bathing suit or I also wore an oversized t-shirt that covered my bum. It outlines everything.
