Review on Arkon Bike Motorcycle Handlebar Mount Holder for iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S3, LG, Motorola, HTC by Byron Patil

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good for a 'universal' product

I recently bought new bikes for my wife and I and wanted something to keep my phone number 1 - I need it 24/7 for work and Having number 2 with me - wanted to use a bike app to track my rides. I have an iPhone 4S in a Seidio Convert case. I looked at a few mounts on other websites that were made for my particular phone and case combination, but they were a little pricey. I saw this product at Revain for about a third of the price. I have had an Arkon car mount product in the past and have been generally happy with it, especially for the price. Based on my previous experiences, I was willing to try this product. I liked that this model felt a little "lower" than the car mount I bought, as well as the elastic strap that helps with road bumps when cycling. Installation was very easy. My phone fits snugly in the case. I don't think it could hold much more, but the Seidio case on my phone is similar in size and design to the Otterbox Defender (i.e. bulky case). In fact, I was happy that it fit snugly to hold it in the mount. The lower legs of the mount are spring-loaded to expand so it "grabs" the phone a bit. I believe it should be able to fit most if not all major smartphones with cases. The reason I'm deducting 1 star is that no matter how hard you tighten the pivot it still tends to move out of position and I assumed any vibration while riding would cause that he moves. My solution to this problem was to simply adjust the mount that goes to the handlebars so I can still see it even in the lowest position. I have been riding since purchasing the product and I can report that I am very satisfied. . As expected, it stayed in place well. The elastic band made it feel solid and held securely in the mount. I think it would be great for commuting and moderate trails. I can't tell how it'll hold up to something more extreme like mountain biking, but anyway I don't know how handy it would be to mount a phone for something like that. Before buying it, I noticed in the reviews that some people mentioned that it flies away when cycling. I can see that this is just due to improper installation e.g. B. not tightened enough screws or not securely connected parts. I've found that if a product has generally good reviews and only a few people are reporting problems, it's probably some sort of user error. Overall the price was right and it got the job done for me. I am happy with my purchase.
