Review on Speed Ring Adapter Flange for Bowens S Flash/Monolight - Enhance Softbox Compatibility and Speedring Soft Box Efficiency by Tony Wylie

I used to have Alien Bee flashlights and loads of Paul C Buff mods. I ended up switching to a Bowens mount lighting system but wanted to keep the Paul Buff softbox and octobox. The problem was that Paul Buff uses a Balcar mount. After searching I couldn't find a (cheap) mount to replace the mount with. , I tried. It's pretty easy to cut with metal scissors. I then used a grinder and sander to get the perfect fit. I can now mount the Paul Buff Softbox and Octobox on Bowens mounts. There are several comparison photos. If anyone thinks this would be helpful, let me know and I'll post it here for you. Update: I added some photos. The first shows this flange (right side) next to a standard Paul Buff flange (left) to show the size difference. The 2nd picture shows the scissors I used to cut it, as well as the first part of the cut. From then on, he basically just followed that line.
