Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Efficient Tool for Replacing Belts in Dyson Vacuum Cleaners by Tammy Marie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not essential but VERY nice to have

There are videos on the internet describing how to change the brush on a Dyson DC14 and also the clutch which is probably a good idea as if it were yours Brush jams like mine, the belts are most likely worn out too and you can't just replace both belts because the clutch will grab you all the way. Yes, to change the belts you will need to replace the clutch, so don't waste your money buying separate "commonly bought" belts. The Aussie video shows the clutch (including belts) and brush being replaced and he simply pries the belt off with a large screwdriver. It's really clumsy and takes a lot more effort than using this special tool. The video of the girl with long dark hair does not discuss the clutch, but clearly shows the use of this tool, which is why I bought it. . You use the hook handle to very gently pull the strap up (the new straps are TENSIONED) and then slide the cage under the strap. The cage holds the strap securely so you can insert the brush without the strap snapping onto you. It's a well made tool and a shame I probably won't need it anymore as maintenance should last at least two years. Even for a one-time use, it costs six dollars. I'm mechanical by nature, but I don't fix vacuums every day, so having that third hand holding the belt has saved me a lot of the time, frayed knuckles, and swearing that often accompany repairs when the right tools aren't readily available. in the hand.
