Excellent basic working computer. It loads, browses and loads fast. The keyboard feels solid, the speakers produce good sound, and the screen has an acceptable viewing angle before it starts to distort the image. It's lightweight and has a sleek aluminum top with a seemingly durable plastic bottom. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end, as this computer lacks many features, which leaves a lot to be desired. First, the charger is short, around 6 feet, meaning you need to be near an outlet to plug in your computer and on a desk to use it. It wouldn't be that big of a downside, except that the battery life is very limited, maybe 5 hours in sleep mode (dark screen, slower performance, fast shutdown, etc.) and even less in performance mode. I bought it for school and had to sit constantly between classes to charge it as I can't charge it in class because the power cord is too short. Also, it doesn't come with Microsoft Office, so factor that into the price of your computer. The keyboard isn't backlit, so you can't use it in low light or you can't see the keys. The screen says it's HD and the picture quality is decent, but it doesn't compare to the screen on my 10-year-old MacBook Pro or TV. The touchpad is a little wobbly and feels dangling. Using the touchpad can be a little tedious, like moving the mouse with one finger and scrolling up/down with two fingers. When you start swiping up/down with two fingers and remove your finger, the remaining finger will keep scrolling up and down, it doesn't realize that the finger has been lifted, so you can only move further with the mouse. Trust me when I say it gets a little annoying in practice. The front camera does not work and only produces grainy images. So if Skype calls are important to you, the second camera would be a huge improvement. I had to uninstall all programs labeled Lenovo because when I first started using this brand new laptop, I started getting random pop-ups in the middle of typing a document, surfing the web, watching a movie, etc. My new computer seemed to have a virus that was already there, but it was Lenovo preinstalled programs trying to sell me programs, features, accessories, etc. It was very annoying, I couldn't believe that the company would install such aggressive pop-up software on a new computer. It was everywhere. So in general everything is fine with this computer. I'm replacing a 10 year old MacBook Pro with this budget computer so my comparisons may be wrong considering it's cheaper, but being 10 years younger I figured there were more features for the price I paid ($580 at Revain).
