Review on Powerful Grundfos 98562818 SCALA2 Pressure Boosting Pump: 1x115V 60Hz AVCBDF by Clarence Calcara

This is the second SCALA2 pump I have ordered. Unfortunately the first one was defective and the filler plug assembly self-destructed when I tried to remove it. This second one was mostly made correctly (the lube that should have been on the o-rings was poorly applied and required some attention), and like many other German engineered products, the instructions that come with it try to explain everything with pictures and symbols that almost are always removed details (a few YouTube videos will do). But once primed and connected, the device hums conscientiously, and using it to increase the pressure of collected rainwater for our irrigation system works like a charm. Setting the pressure to 21 PSI eliminates the need for a built in pressure regulator and our drip ejectors have excellent water flow all the way down the 1/2 inch line. We recommend a fine filter before entering the pump. We found that the 1" banjo Y-filter worked fine.
