Serious Soled Winter Hiking Boots

I recently bought another set of boots for my older Pyrenees to wear alone to better protect her from an injured hind leg and while I love her I thought you were a little short in sole length so it was worth trying them out too. What I like best about them: • The soles are very durable, like a small Vibram dog walking boot, and long enough to cover the entire footboard (see photo for profile and size comparison). • There is only one long Velcro strap to wrap around the leg instead of two, making it much easier to put on an excited dog, and the strap starts slightly higher to ensure a snug fit around the ankle. The bottom strap of the other boot goes through a plastic clip which makes it fairly easy to pull out of when trying to put the boot on, so I'm guessing this one only has velcro and no clip to fiddle with • Bright orange colour , ideal for hunting dogs, also helps to find lost boots and is not as hot as black in moderate weather. • Full neoprene construction is more water resistant and dries faster than other fleece inners. • Inseams are flat. the place where they meet, which I think should be more comfortable than the elevated boots of other boots. Things I dislike: • A strap means this boot is more prone to rolling on the paw; my girlfriend keeps coming back from walks in the woods with her head up so that there are nice rough soles on her foot and she walks on top instead. • This boot does not appear to be as well made as the other; its seams are neat and even, but raw and open - although, as mentioned above, this allows them to lie flat on the inside. • This boot is more durable than comfortable; the other is lined with fleece inside and this one is made of the same material inside and out. Overall: Good choice for winter boots; Just make sure they stay properly aligned on the foot.
