Review on πŸ”Œ SIIG SuperSpeed 3 Port USB 3.0 LAN Hub Adapter with RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Port - White | USB-C to Type-A Adapter by Luis Baker

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worked great with: 1) Windows 10 laptop 2) Fedora 23 .

Worked great with: 1) Windows laptop 102) Fedora laptop 233) Apple OS X No drivers required and connected to my network at 1000Mbps (which of course differs from the bandwidth you receive network). In the case of a Fedora 23 laptop, this saved me the expense of repairing a faulty laptop ethernet port. The device gets a little warm just by sitting down. As a test, I connected the Logitech Unifying Receiver to my mouse. /keyboard, a 32GB Patriot Rage XT USB 3.0 flash drive, a 2TB Western Digital My Passport external hard drive, and an Ethernet cable from another computer to an Apple Mac Mini booted from an external USB drive . I've started transferring 21GB from a Western Digital USB drive and 250MB from a Patriot flash drive to a Mac Mini bootable USB drive. Everything was completed, the 21GB transfer took about 8 minutes which is about what I would expect from a USB hard drive. The device does not heat up significantly more than when idling. I had no disconnects or other failures. In real conditions on a Fedora 23 laptop, network connection to multiple devices worked at full expected speed. All the devices I've tried have reported a connection speed of 1000Mbps, but I haven't tested what the sustained network throughput will be.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • unreliable
