I was surprised at the brightness of these little lights & was mostly pleased with my purchase. However, the battery life, I did not give it 5 stars because I found that it did not keep a charge very long at all. For a mother daughter camp with the daughter scared of the dark in the middle of the woods, we had to keep a light on all night. Luckily our screened cabins had an outlet to keep one plugged up all night. (They do not charge while the lights are turned on.) Now, when I say the lights are bright, I had to almost completely close the lantern because it put off so much light. It was nice while we were awake, but when I was trying to sleep, not so much! We found that the lights would start to dim not much after an hour or so after being on, it seemed. I also didn’t realize that they could use AA batteries too.
