Don't need floats, they cause excess spray

I have not purchased this item, but I have been a boat owner, water skier, and tuber for most of my life. I saw this item and could tell that it was a bad idea. All of the tow ropes that I've owned and used have been made of a material that floats. Adding floats along the rope doesn't make the rope float. It only adds things along the rope that will catch the water and cause excess spray. That's not fun for your skier or tuber. The quick release hooks are a really bad idea for two reasons. 1) They could become dangerous to your skier or tuber in the event of a violent fall. and you never know when you're going to have a violent fall. 2) Metal never floats. Adding metal to the rider end of the rope is going to make it want to sink. There are a lot of much better solutions for connecting a towable to a rope. We used a simple loop before the plastic quick connectors became popular. It's still a good method.

Pros
  • 65 ft floatable ropes, won't sink, and the yellow colour is easy to find.
Cons
  • The weight of the rope, floats, and hooks can be cumbersome and difficult to store or transport without proper equipment
