The reviews of sound engineers, musicians, and regular listeners were taken into consideration when purchasing headphones. The headphones were described as having "bass with bright tops." They were necessary for my job. Do not deduct nor add anything. There are several others for monitoring at intermediate ranges. Yet, the level of disappointment was unbounded. Even for someone who enjoys hearing bright tops, the upper frequencies proved to be extremely harmful. Sibilants are known to be painful to the ear; however, this problem can be remedied by using an equalizer in conjunction with a sound source of superior quality. The headphones do not have any bass because bass is not present in them. It's possible that my headphones aren't working properly; I have no idea what other people write about or what they consider bass to be. The bass line is so great that I can't tell what key it's in without using the equalization filter. The EQ of the lower frequencies can be adjusted, but the bass is overpowering and imprecise. These headphones are not designed for monitoring low frequencies and should not be used for that purpose. As for solace, there is nothing good to be found. Everyone I know experiences discomfort in their skulls as a result of using headphones. You are aware that everyone has a unique shape to their skull and ears, which results in a variety of head sizes. The folding and detachable wire earns two stars, as does the attention to detail on the uppers.
