I bought ours to act as a seal between the door and frame and it's actually quite tight. There are many people and dogs hitting him and he stays down. In fact, my kids make fun of it because it closes so tightly it almost sounds like an airlock when you open it. It gets a lot of use and stays firmly in place even at the ends where I expected it to come loose first. It's been a few weeks so far so good.
