The lid only lasted a few months. It broke off at the top and is now only half connected leaving a huge gap for weather/bugs etc. enter. Very similar to the other review, except the reviewer thought it might be related to the cold climate; However, we live in a very hot climate and the same thing happened. Most frustrating, however, is the fact that this is an "OLD STYLE" door and the company no longer makes "Old Style" replacement doors. And the "new style" doors are not compatible with the "old style" doors. The company told me that my only option is to buy a new door, which is expensive, and who knows if I can find the same door that fits the cutout I've already made for this door. They should stop selling "old style" unless they offer replacement valves for it, or at least state in the description that it is "old style" and you can't buy replacement valves for it. That seems dishonest. Either way, unless you want to replace your entire dog door in just a few months, don't buy this.
