This is a nice brushed stainless steel with a good grip and a non-slip pad on the base. 4 sharpening zones Slot 1 especially for scissors Slot 2 for blunt knives Slot 3 for regular sharpening Slot 4 polishes the blade THIS WORKS ALMOST AS WELL AS MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, but is 10 times more expensive! VERY IMPRESSIVE AND EASY TO USE! While you never want to cut yourself, I actually took a very dull knife and sharpened it through slots 2, 3 and 4 and sliced some ginger (and accidentally my finger!) Current it doesn't take up too much room and is very handy to keep the edges of your instruments in perfect condition. FOODVILLE's 3-year guarantee is also excellent.
