Review on πŸŽ’ Victorinox Altmont Professional Fliptop Backpack: Top-Notch Storage and Organization by Tricia Evans

Great bag looks so clean. (Full Review)

Unfortunately I received the wrong bag. But Amazon was quick to help me fix it and I find it pretty rare. However, I received it just before the trip, so it was the perfect moment to use it. I started my search when my old Swiss Gear bag was stolen in Athens. To my dismay, this bag was the most durable bag I have ever had. I was 1 semester in college (no exaggeration) before I came across this one. Boom, 6 years later it's still holding up like a champ (minus the wear and tear). As much as I wanted to part with my old backpack, I jumped at the opportunity to 'upgrade' but insisted on staying within the brand. that seems to belong to Victorinox. So that's an upgrade, right? What attracted me to this bag? Those clean, elegant lines are what most backpacks lack. The few that have them are always so small. As a 6ft 6in person with 260lbs I wanted the biggest bag I could find that didn't look like a kid's bag but I still wanted it to look great in the office. I wouldn't mind if it was 25% larger, but I'm sure some would find it unwieldy). Let's get down to business: Pros: (And that's a lot, sorry) - The cubic shape looks better than the old drop. I carry it on my back and it also makes packing and unpacking easier. This keeps it in a good vertical position. Especially if it's not empty. You can safely pack it on your carry-on and it won't stick out (as you can see in my photos). and realized how annoying it would be if it got stuck. Big plus I didn't know about. (My Samsonite is pretty much the max Southwest carry - couldn't find size limit the old pic.) - The "trout mouth" is one of imo's best features. Having a reasonably sized bag is great and all, but not if you find it hard to get or load things when it's full. I knew it had lots of pockets when I ordered it but they are all the perfect size so you still have a den for large or bulky items. The best from both worlds. I didn't like that the top pocket looked like an afterthought. But when the bag is used, it relaxes and looks very nice while being the most comfortable bag in the bag. Bonus 1, it also fits almost perfectly under the southwestern seats if someone has nowhere to put their carry-on and you're trying to be nice. (I wish I had more space in the photo because even though it was ported. Even my burly self had enough space. (Also I think Southwest thinned all of their new seats or something, I felt like more Having legroom than usual, maybe it has something to do with it) - Bonus 2, although the straps have nowhere to go, they can slip behind the "hand luggage" and don't interfere with clipping (see photos) Cons: - No travel zip.. First I thought I missed out then realized that fills the bag.But there is a bottle opener (more valuable to me).(From what I've learned first hand if someone takes your stuff they probably will just take the whole bag.) So I'm just keeping an eye on it for now, such a volume, I feel it fits me just as well as my old Swiss suit (which was technically a bit larger) For example, someone m His size just fitted ma l for 3 days of clothes and a sweater. If I count the clothes I've been wearing for 4 days and 3 nights including my laptop it's hard to complain.) I know it's more expensive than my favorite Swiss Gear 1900 replacement but it looks like it much better off if it's just more logical pockets . If it were stolen today (I would be mad), but then I would buy this Victorinox again.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
