Excellent, use with care

This is a serious mandolin. An incredibly useful kitchen tool that I now use every time I need to make a salad or julienne carrots for dog food. I just used it to chop 1.5 pounds of ginger to make candied ginger and pickled ginger. Pickled ginger slices are so thin you can see them. I don't know of any other household appliance that can handle it. But this thing is very sharp, folks. If you look at it wrong, it will cut you. Take care and keep it safe, we little hands can't access it at all. I use a cut resistant glove every time I use this mandolin; even then I'm very careful. I use food protection whenever I can, but it doesn't work well for many foods. Even with careful use, you can cut your fingers faster than you can say "ouch", so wear protective gloves! With care, this mandolin produces the thinnest, waffle-like, thin slices achievable for delicious vegetable salads and stir-fries. I love using it now that I'm not afraid of cutting myself!
