The electronic pulse on it can interfere with a medical device such as a pacemaker. The warnings also say keep it away from your heart, even if you don't have heart health problems. As far as it works, some people don't like the electronic pulse this thing puts out. You can adjust the heart rate settings, but that's how this thing massages your neck. A light tapping can be felt from time to time, but most of the massage is an electronic pulse! At higher levels it will make your head move because it tightens your neck muscles! This is really good for me, but I actually wanted more of a neck massager, not muscles! It's nice to be warm too! The quality of it, as far as it is made, is actually very good!
