I did something stupid! Both sides of my kitchen sink were kind of clogged and I couldn't clean them. I poured sulfuric acid into both drains to clean them. Big mistake! I didn't know that sulfuric acid attacks metal. He cleaned the drain but there were ugly black stains on one side and the side of the garbage chute where I used more acid actually looked like it had eaten away the chrome trim! I've tried bleach and a few other things I needed to try to clean and was wondering if I wouldn't just have to replace the sink when I moved. It looked so bad. Thought I'd give this bartender friend a try and it completely cleared both sides! It took a thorough cleaning with a soft sponge, but the sink looks new again. I can not believe that. I really thought I had to buy a new sink!
