Couldn't get HDMI to work with Geforce RTX, but USB works fine.

So working from home with Covid-19 I wanted to be able to switch between my PC and my work laptop. ibuypower personal computer with geforce rtx graphics card; The work notebook is a standard Dell Latitude 5400, so nothing special. I was able to switch to Dell with no problems. I could not switch to ibuypower box. The USB ports work fine, though, and I'm grateful for that. it's only been 5 minutes. So let's give it some time to see how it holds up. So at the moment I only use the box to switch usb. and my LG display luckily has 2 HDMI inputs. So instead of a one-step process, I have a two-step process. I'm moving to USB devices. So I have a camera. logs. Hyperx microphone. and keyboard/mouse combination. vivcomb. Everything works between the machines. (no plugging and unplugging required). and then I just turn on the LG display. some kind of crap. I've used these types of devices in the past (late 90's/early 00's) when testing software across platforms and operating systems. This solved the problem (for now). let's see how it holds up. (and yes I changed the HDMI cables.) Not sure what the problem is (again it was only 5 minutes). but how I am set up now. I'm not sure I'll take the time to get it working properly. (The only thing I could try would be to reverse the order and since I only tested the home computer on the input of computer 2, it might be a bad HDMI port. Let me try that and get back to you.
