Review on ๐Ÿ’พ Inateck USB 3.0 IDE SATA External Hard Drive Reader for Universal 2.5/3.5 HDD/SSD, IDE to USB Adapter with 12V/2A Power Supply & USB 3.0 Cable - UA2001 by Kim Rush

Awkward and unreliable connectors

I bought this multiple hard drive reader to get rid of some very outdated computers and save on hard drives and data. Some were SATA laptops, others were desktop IDEs, but this item allowed them and all of their subfolders to show up in Windows Explorer. Functionally, this item is great. It definitely works. Where it falls short is the data output connector or the output of Micro B. Connecting by eye is not that easy. It takes a lot of fiddling before it is properly connected. Unfortunately, the connector's support is so weak that the weight of the device being lifted off the table caused the Micro-B cable to bend slightly, destroying the cable connections. It would have been much better if the data out cable was hardwired and not the Micro B connector. I was able to use the device twice before the cable connector bent too easily and messed up the Micro B connector and port, causing the device to fail became unusable.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
