Didn't work with my old IDE drive

I'm returning this item because it didn't work with my IDE drive. I contacted the support and got the following answer which wasn't really helpful: Dear customer, we found that the required power of your driver is 2250mA, while our product only supports up to 2 AI current drivers UA2001. If you need further assistance, please contact us. We are always there for you. I wish you a nice day! Best regards Celia

Could be one.

I was originally looking for a docking station with IDE support and SATA support, but I saw this one and it was one day shipping so I pulled the trigger. And it worked like a charm to retrieve old family photos and videos that we feared were long gone on the old IDE drive. I then decided to use it to format some of the SATA drives I've been collecting for years. Not only did it crash every time, but it also blocked my computer's USB ports. The videos kept playing, the music kept playing. But my

Doesn't work with Windows 10

I have a huge stack of old hard drives that I was hoping to transfer files from before recycling and this adapter seemed like a perfect fit. I've been using Inateck adapters and cases for years and I really wanted a simple adapter that would work with any of my old drives. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with Windows 10. I tried drives on each of the ports but couldn't get any of them to work. Only SATA drives are recognized and shown in Explorer, but the transfer speed is ridiculous. I…

Awkward and unreliable connectors

I bought this multiple hard drive reader to get rid of some very outdated computers and save on hard drives and data. Some were SATA laptops, others were desktop IDEs, but this item allowed them and all of their subfolders to show up in Windows Explorer. Functionally, this item is great. It definitely works. Where it falls short is the data output connector or the output of Micro B. Connecting by eye is not that easy. It takes a lot of fiddling before it is properly connected. Unfortunately…

Fast and reliable. Stop procrastinating and buy this!

I used to have IDE and SATA to USB hard drive converters. My last one worked with USB 2.0 and was only moderately reliable. It worked pretty well for about forty-five minutes, and then it started throwing errors. I turned it off for twenty minutes and it worked fine again. I suspect that there were problems with the heating. It was also slower than death; Copying an old 80GB hard drive (yes, that's like a big flash drive these days) took almost two hours and two cooling cycles. I have to say…

Fast and easy! - Hard Drive Accessory

I FINALLY got my hands on a pair of old hard drives! These things have been lying around my office for at least 10 years! I thought that one day I'll figure out what to do with them. While researching online, I found this product and thought "What the heck?". I've been pretty thorough in conducting further research (knowing me). I looked at other brands, read a few reviews and finally settled on this product through Revain. At $25.99, the price was right too. When I received my order, the first

This thing has served me well for three years

Like many others, I rely on real reviews from real people who actually own and use the product. I've been using one of these for over three years. This device has served me well and was worth every penny spent. Details: I use it with Windows Vista, Win 7 and Win 8.1 Home as well as the Professional editions. I've used it to transfer files to and from 2.5" SATA hard drives from laptops, 2.5" SSD, 3.5" IDE and SATA hard drives both HDD and SSD move. as well as several of my Dell laptops and…

How Windows detects HD

I've read a bunch of negative reviews here from people saying it didn't work for them. I also had trouble getting it to work until I figured out what the problem was. Basically, if the connected hard drive does not appear in the list of drives connected to your computer, the problem is not with the converter but with the fact that your computer does not match the new hard drive. To view it, do the following: 1. First, make sure the BIOS detects and lists it. Just go to Device Manager and expand
