Updated comments after five months of use

Installation was easy and completely plug and play in Windows 7. My only criticism was that the instructions didn't mention how to open the case, which requires it requires the user to press the locking latch with a flathead screwdriver while separating the top and bottom. However, if you are used to opening computers, then this will not be difficult. I was impressed with the workmanship of the 5.25" panel holder, which is black plastic but has metal grommets for the screws that attach it to the computer case. I've used other plate mounts in the past that didn't have metal grommets and it was easy to remove the threads if you overtightened the screws even slightly. This one is better designed and comes with all the necessary parts including two different USB 3 cables to connect the hub to the motherboard. Depending on the available connectors on the motherboard, you will use one or the other. When I plugged a USB 3 stick into the hub, it was immediately available in the list of drives and the transfer speed was the same as if I had plugged the stick into one of the USB ports on the back of the computer. That's exactly what I wanted! Additional comments after five months of use: It still works well, except that it loses USB communication from time to time, meaning it doesn't "see" the drive when I plug in a flash drive. If I plug the same stick into the built-in USB port, it is recognized immediately. When this happens, I can restart the computer, which restores the hub's functionality, but it's quite annoying. The connection doesn't drop during a file transfer, but it usually happens when the computer was on but I haven't used the hub for a while.
