I'm pretty handy around the house with tools and maintenance. But this chair was a little difficult to assemble. Several of the holes for the screws didn't match up very well so I had to do a lot of pushing and straining to get it together. The rocker tubes didn't fit together on one side until I added vaseline and then did a lot of pushing and twisting. The rubber end plug on one side covered the screw hole so I had to drill it out before I could screw it to one of the cross-arms. And finally the seating rod on one side did not line up at all with the rocker tube so that took a lot of effort to get together. I too noticed rust after less than 4 months.
