This was my first purchase of a felt rug pad. I wanted something for our rug runner that would keep it from moving. Our cats like to race around and push the rugs across the floor. I don't have any other rug pads to compare it to. I needed a 12 foot length and 2.6' width so there isn't a lot of choice. I checked reviews and this was reasonably priced compared to other brands. It added some cushioning. I ordered one to see whether I liked it and was very pleased, the rug stayed put so I bought a second one. I had to trim a little off of both, one for the length and the second one for the width and length but it was easy to cut with scissors.
