Review on Nespresso Inissia Red Espresso Maker: Discontinued Model Offers Authentic Espresso Experience by Marc Gallner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

What happened to Nespresso coffee machines?

Bought an Inissia from Breville (it's also DeLonghi) to replace our current CitiU machine (it turns out just needs the water tank to fit better, no leaks phew!) and oh my ! We bought it because it can make espresso and lungo, which we like. The machine came quickly, unpacked and set up according to very good instructions. Then we started using it. That's when love stopped. Starting was troublesome, the capsules had to be laid exactly like that (we lost 5 pieces), otherwise the machine would not close normally and would not pierce the capsule, just throw it away; When working properly, the "coffee" was warm and so faint you could see the bottom of the cup. Each capsule had to be carefully positioned, pushing the lever hard, resulting in a disappointing drink. Not to mention that the water tank was smaller and much thinner than our old model (you had to fill it up after only two caps) and the cup holder was very dour, didn't stay down for a larger cup. The container for the discarded shells barely held four of them. In the end I emptied and dried it according to the instructions, packed it and sent it back two days after receipt. Not worth the money, time or energy.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some little things
